About UrbanPlantz

UrbanPlantz is a community foraging map for finding, saving and sharing reported plant spots. Toronto is the founding community; people elsewhere can begin mapping their own area.

What the map contains

The map includes historical records and community submissions, original photos, finding notes and independent location checks. You can browse without an account. Signing in lets you save places and contribute.

Plant guides supply reference descriptions, identification cautions, native ranges and sources. They began with wild-growing finds around Toronto. Their inclusion does not verify a plant at a particular spot.

Evidence and corrections

UrbanPlantz publishes the status of each location and dated field evidence where available. Location confirmation means another contributor checked the location; it is separate from species identification or harvesting permission.

To report a problem, sign in, open the spot and use its report option. Administrators can correct records, merge duplicates and hide unsuitable locations. An uncertain record can remain visible with its uncertainty explained.

How to use the references

These service pages are written by UrbanPlantz. Plant profiles link to their reference sources. No professional botanical review or certification is claimed for community records. Consult local expertise and current land-manager rules; read safety and access before relying on a report.
